What is the maximum size of the package?
Would you like to ship a 2 m package? With conventional parcel services such as DHL, you quickly reach the limits – not with Cargoboard. We make shipping large packages flexible, reliable and free from complicated restrictions.
Whether you want to ship an XXL package or a particularly long 45 kg package, these dimensions are no problem for us. Even if you want to ship a 70 kg package, costs and handling remain transparent and easy with us.
While many service providers restrict the shipping of long packages, Cargoboard lets you ship large packages with ease – quickly, efficiently and with no hidden additional costs.
Ship a 40 kg package
Shipping a 40 kg package is no problem with us. From 30 kg, however, it must be palletised and accessible from underneath. The package should also be secured to the pallet with lashing straps or film. With the right packaging, you can ship your 40 kg package with us – safely, reliably and without complicated restrictions.
Ship a 50 kg package
Would you like to ship a 50 kg package? With Cargoboard, this is possible with ease. To ensure smooth transport, any package from 30 kg must also be placed on a pallet and accessible from underneath. It should also be secured with lashing straps and film. This allows you to ship your 50 kg package without having to worry about damage or transport restrictions.

The cost of shipping a large package depends on several factors, including size, weight and route.
We also offer two shipping options, which likewise affect the cost of shipping large packages.
Standard shipping
A cost-effective solution suitable for transports where a slightly longer transit time is not a decisive factor.
Premium shipping
For particularly urgent transports, our Premium shipping is the right option. Your shipment is prioritised and reaches its destination quickly and reliably.

The right packaging for shipping large packages
1. Wrap goods with bubble wrap

Insure a large package for transport
There is no standard insurance for shipping large packages. In the event of damage, only liability in accordance with the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Condition (ADSp) applies.

Frequently asked questions about shipping large packages
How do I ship a large package?
Shipping a large package is easy: enter your details online and you will receive the right price straight away. Stable packaging is important – use sturdy cardboard boxes, cushioning material and tape. From a weight of 30 kg, your shipment must be transported on a pallet. After booking, we collect your package directly from you and deliver it reliably to the destination address.
Can I ship a large package as a private individual?
We offer large package shipping exclusively for commercial customers, public authorities and companies. Transport on behalf of private individuals is completely excluded.
What is the earliest possible collection date? Can collection still take place today?
If you place your order by 10:00, there are regions where we offer same-day collection. You can find out whether this service is available in your region after entering the collection and delivery location in our platform.
Can I still modify my order after booking?
Yes, you can modify your order after booking via the Solution Center or Customer Support. We recommend communicating changes as early as possible to ensure smooth handling.
Is my transport insured when I ship a large package?
By default, your shipment is not covered by separate insurance. In the event of loss or damage, only statutory transport liability applies, which provides compensation of around €10 per kilogram of the weight of the good damaged. This means that compensation relates exclusively to the weight of the damaged or lost goods. For example: if a laptop weighing 2 kg is damaged, liability would only provide compensation of €20.
To ensure comprehensive protection for your shipment, we recommend taking out our shipping insurance. It provides extended protection beyond statutory transport liability and ensures that you are appropriately compensated in the event of damage or loss.
