What is the maximum size of the parcel?
Want to send a 2 m parcel? With conventional parcel services such as DHL you quickly reach the limits here – not so with Cargoboard! We make sending large parcels flexible, reliable and free of complicated restrictions.
Whether you want to send an XXL parcel or a particularly long parcel weighing 45 kg – these dimensions are no problem for us. Even when you send a 70 kg parcel – the costs and handling remain transparent and easy with us.

Send a 40 kg parcel
Sending a 40 kg parcel is no problem with us! From 30 kg, however, it must be palletised and accessible from underneath. The parcel should also be secured on the pallet with lashing straps or film. With the right packaging, you can send your 40 kg parcel with us – safely, reliably and free of complicated restrictions.
Send a 50 kg parcel
Would you like to send a 50 kg parcel? With Cargoboard that’s easily possible! For the transport to run smoothly, this parcel must also stand on a pallet from 30 kg and be accessible from underneath. It should also be secured with lashing straps and film. This way you can send your 50 kg parcel without having to worry about damage or transport restrictions.

The cost of sending a large parcel depends on several factors, including size, weight and route.
In addition, we offer two shipping options that also affect the cost of sending large parcels.
Standard shipping
An affordable option suited to transports where a slightly longer transit time isn’t a decisive factor.
Premium shipping
For particularly urgent transports, our Premium shipping offers the right option. Your shipment is given priority and reaches its destination quickly and reliably.

The right packaging for sending large parcels

Insure a large parcel for transport
There is no standard insurance for sending large parcels. In the event of damage, only liability under the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Condition (ADSp) applies.

How do I send a large parcel?
Sending a large parcel is easy: enter your details online and you'll receive the right price straight away. Sturdy packaging is essential – use robust cardboard boxes, padding material and tape. From a weight of 30 kg, your shipment must be transported on a pallet. Once you've booked, we collect your parcel directly from you and deliver it reliably to the destination address.
Can I send a large parcel as a private individual?
We offer the shipping of large parcels exclusively to commercial customers, public authorities and businesses. Transport on behalf of private individuals is entirely excluded.
What is the earliest possible collection date? Can collection still happen today?
If you place your order by 10:00, there are regions where we offer same-day collection. You can find out whether this service is available in your region after entering the collection and delivery location on our platform.
Can I still adjust my order after booking?
Yes, you can adjust your order after booking via the Solution Center or Customer Support. We recommend communicating any changes as early as possible to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Is my transport insured when I send a large parcel?
By default, your shipment is not covered by separate insurance. In the event of loss or damage, only the statutory carrier liability applies, which provides compensation of around €10 per kilogram of damage weight. This means that compensation relates solely to the weight of the good damaged or lost. For example: if a laptop weighing 2 kg is damaged, liability would only provide compensation of €20.
To ensure comprehensive protection for your shipment, we recommend taking out our shipping insurance. This offers extended protection beyond the statutory carrier liability and ensures that you are appropriately compensated in the event of damage or loss.
